The Ghana Prisons Service is expected to recruit 2000 undergraduates and graduates into the service to augment the operations of the prison service in the 47 prison facilities in the country.
ASP Opoku stated categorically that the service did not employ any unfair factors to disqualify applicants during the body selection and documentation process.
Applicants who were disqualified did not meet the requirements on the application form such as age cut off and academic results.
He said, “the Service will give opportunities to qualified, physically fit and deserving young Ghanaians to be trained as officers and other ranks”.
ASP Samuel Kofi Opoku was speaking on Freedom Radio’s “YEN MAN” show with Kwaku Aboagye Apenteng on November 9, 2021.
Applicants who qualified for the screening process were from various academic and professional backgrounds including health workers, traders, social workers, teachers and the clergy.
