Covid-19: Ghana’s death toll stands at 1,152

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic popularly known as Covid-19 in Ghana, 1,152 deaths have been recorded as of September 30.

The current Covid-19 cases have hit 127,342 confirmed cases out of which 123,036 have been recovered and discharged with 3,154 active cases and 126 new cases as of September 30, 2021.

On gender distribution, the virus has dominated males with 57% of total cases recorded in the country with the female coming second with 43%.

The Greater Accra Region continue to lead with 68,561 confirm cases followed by the Ashanti Region 20,661 cases, Western Region also recorded 7, 305 cases followed closely by Eastern Region 6,419 cases.

Volta Region has recorded 5,057 cases, Central Region with 4,605 cases, Bono East Region recorded 2,539 cases, Bono Region 2,098 cases, followed by Northern Region 1,722 cases with Upper East Region also recorded 1,454 cases and Ahafo Region with 1,051 cases.

The rests are the Western North Region recorded 999 cases, Oti Region has recorded 834 cases, Upper West Region had 695 cases, North-East Region also recorded 270 cases and Savannah Region also recorded 259 cases.

Speaking to the Press on the need to continue to observe the safety protocols, a senior nursing officer at the Mamprobi Polyclinic, Mr Samuel Yeboah, advised Ghanaians to continue to follow the safety protocols of hand washing, wearing of a nose mask, uses of hand sanitiser and other safety protocols to defeat the virus in the country.
