An unidentified body has been found in cassava farmland at Nkwantanang in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The dead body couldn’t be identified because it had decomposed with part of the body buried in the soil.
As it stands now, the cause of death is not known, however, preliminary information gathered by Freedom radio, according to some community members, believe the dead person was going to steal food from the farm when the unfortunate happened.
Mr Christopher Teye, the Community Secretary at the Tinkong electoral area, told Freedom Radio when they got to the scene with the Police, the state of the dead body was decomposed, believing that the person had died some weeks earlier.
Mr Samuel Kwadwo Abokyi, the Assemblyman of Tinkong Electoral Area said a family member has identified the dead body, claiming that it is their family member, so they are now going to find ways to convey the dead body from the farm.
According to him, the family indicated that for some time now the dead person had been missing, so they thought he had travelled to another community until the news broke that a dead person had been found, which was their family member.
