Ghana Police Service celebrates it’s fallen heroes of 2021

The Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, 2nd November 2021 held its 2021 Memorial Day Parade at the Cenotaph grounds at the National Police Training School, Accra.

 

The Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, 2nd November 2021 held its 2021 Memorial Day Parade at the Cenotaph grounds at the National Police Training School, Accra.

The Flag-Raising and Wreath-Laying Ceremony were in honour and remembrance of eleven (11) Police Officers who lost their lives this year, 2021, in the course of performing their lawful duties.

The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion was the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the Chairman of the Police Council. The Vice President lit the Perpetual Flame signifying the eternal remembrance for the departed souls and also signed the Remembrance Book.

The ceremony was also graced by the Hon. Minister for the Interior and MP for Nandom, Mr Ambrose Dery, The Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare and members of the Police Management Board. Also present were former Inspector-Generals of Police, representatives of other security agencies, a representative of the Ga Mantse Nii Duodu Nsaaki III, Numo Blafo III, and the families of the fallen Heroes.

Wreaths were laid by the Vice President, the Inspector-General of Police, a representative of the Ga Mantse and one of the widows, on behalf of the country, the Police Service, the traditional authorities and the bereaved families respectively.
