Hasaacas Ladies reach semifinals of WAFU Women’s CL qualifiers after thumping AS Police

A spirited performance from Hasaacas Ladies aided them to trounce their Niger counterparts AS Police in their final group game on Friday evening.

Coach Yusif Basigi’s charges fought hard to inflict a 3-0 defeat on AS Police to book a ticket to the semi-finals of the tournament staged in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

It took twenty-two minutes for Hasaacas Ladies to open the score sheet through Doris Boaduwaa after a defensive blunder from the AS Police backline.

AS Police had an opportunity to level the score via a spot-kick but the attempt from the spot was brilliantly saved by Hasaacas Ladies goalkeeper Grace Baanwa.

Two-hero Milot Pokuaa ended the first department of the game with a powerful header to secure the Hasmal ladies a 2-0 win.

In the second half, Hasaacas Ladies continued their impressive performance displayed in the first phase to extend their lead before the final whistle.

Pokuaa registered her second goal of the game with a cool finish after making good use of a cross delivered by Jafar Rahama.

Hasaacas Ladies had opportunities in the last ten minutes to increase their tally but they failed to utilize the numerous chances as the fixture ended in a 3-0 in favour of the Ghanaian giants.

Hasaacas Ladies will now battle out with Burkina Faso side USFA in the semi-finals of the tourney.
