The Bibiani Police Command on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, confirmed the arrest of Emmanuel Okyere Baffour, the suspect who allegedly stabbed his wife Jessica Affi Jones (Joyce ) to death at Bibiani Degede.

The suspect, 28, was declared wanted by the Bibiani police when he went into hiding. Okyere Baffour was arrested in Kumasi Oforikrom through the collaboration between the Bibiani police and the Manhyia Divisional command.
The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Divisional crime officer, Superintendent, Seth Sewornu confirmed to the media that the suspect would be arraigned before the court today, August 12, 2021, whilst investigations continue.
He, therefore, thanked the people of Bibiani for cooperating with the Police which led to the arrest of the suspect, adding that they should continue to corporate with them to fight miscreants that will come and mingle with them to commit a crime.
Background
A man has allegedly murdered his 26-year-old wife Joyce Johnes Affi Jessica at Degede a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The suspect has been identified as Emmanuel Okyere Baffour.
The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Divisional Crime Officer Superintendent Seth Serwonu said the relatives of the deceased called the police on phone to inform them that their daughter has been stabbed and killed by unknown assailants in her room.

Police proceeded to the scene and found the deceased in a pool of blood with multiple stabs wounds but covered with clothes.
Her body was conveyed and deposited at the Bibiani mortuary for further investigations.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the now-deceased young lady decided to divorce the suspect husband over a myriad of issues but the husband begged her to stay that he has turned a new leaf, however, the lady insisted on walking out of the marriage.
She packed her luggage and left for her parents.
But on Thursday, August 6, 2021, around noon, the suspect’s husband went to the house while the parents of the deceased were not around to attack her with a knife.
He allegedly stabbed her five times, covered her body with clothes in a room, and absconded.
In a related development, a 35-year-old man Kofi Avoka has also killed himself after butchering his pregnant wife Irene Appiah, 27, to death at Ankwa Dobro a Community near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
According to the Nsawam Police, on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at about 5:45 am a man by the name of Foofo Atikple a resident of Ankwa Dobro reported at the Nsawam Police station that Kofi Avoka has murdered his wife Irene Appiah and the suspect attempted to kill himself.
Police immediately proceeded to the scene of the crime at Ankwa Dobro where the lifeless body of the deceased Irene Appiah was found lying on the floor of their bedroom in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on the face and the head.
Both the husband and wife were rushed to Nsawam Government Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
The Director-General in Charge of Special Duties at Ghana Police Service, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno recently expressed worry over increasing uxoricide cases in the country with a call in women to swiftly report threats to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit(DOVVSU).

“There is a growing phenomenon in our country in recent times where married men are brutally assaulting their wives which in some cases lead to the death of the women. This uxoricide case in the country is becoming worrisome. However, let me assure the good people of our country that, Police have all capabilities to stern the onslaught. The DOVVSU offices established all over the country is capable to handle all domestic abuses if a timely report is made to be probe”
“All women who are suffering any form of domestic abuse to go the nearest DOVVSU office or Police station to make a report without fear before things get out of hands,” He said during a passing out parade for new police recruits in Koforidua on June 19, 2021.
