Mr Kojo Frempong a Government spokesperson at the Ministry of Information has passionately appealed to Ghanaians to inculcate the habit of wearing nose masks to aid in the fight against covid 19.

‘’We should be reminding ourselves of the need to abide by the protocols, we must not be compelled before we wear the mask, because it is for our protection ‘’ he added.

He made this appeal in an interview on Freedom Radio’s ‘’Yen Man’’ show hosted by Kwaku Aboagye Apenteng.

Mr Frempong said in 1919 when the world recorded Spanish flu, they resorted to the wearing of nose masks and that was what saved the situation then, indicating that in 2021 it is the same prescription of wearing nose masks that will save the situation.

He said that when two people wear nose masks it helps to reduce the transmission of the virus by 95 per cent adding that, the likely chance of contracting the virus is only 5 peper cent

‘’We can attend weddings and funerals but we have to wear our masks that will ensure our safety at public gatherings ‘’ he said.

Giving a counter answer to those who give excuses on the wearing of nose masks, he stated that the difficulties one goes through when they contract the virus and are admitted at the hospital can never be compared to the wearing of masks because at the hospital a covid patient survives on oxygen, asking ’’which of the two is more devastating ‘’.
