’Let’s have confidence in the three-member Ejura committee’’- Mr Boateng

Mr Paul Boateng, a security analyst has called on Ghanaians to develop confidence in the three-member committee tasked to conduct a public inquiry into the disturbances recorded at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

‘’I have the belief that they will do a perfect work without fear or favour so that the truth will come out and the right sanctions and punishment would be meted out to anyone found guilty’’

He made the call in an interview on Freedom Radio’s ‘’Yen Man’’ show hosted by Kwaku Aboagye Apenteng.

Commenting on a section of Ghanaians calling on the government to set up a commission of inquiry, an independent body and parliamentary inquiry, he indicated that

’The point is that we want the truth so that those who perpetrated the disturbance and misconducted themselves will be punished, for the families that lost their people to get justice ‘’.

Adding that, unravelling the truth is the most important and not the commission of an inquiry or parliamentary inquiry.

He questioned those arguing based on the committee being biased that, everybody tends to be biased, ’’Who is a neutral person in Ghana at the moment, everything is politicised’ ’he quizzed.

Mr Boateng said at this point the most important thing to do is to build confidence in the committee due to their credibility as individuals, their credentials, the integrity they have built over the years.

Indicating that he was confident the committee would not do anything contrary to the work assigned to them to unravel the truth surrounding the Ejura disturbances.

He encouraged everyone, especially the youth who have information concerning the disturbances that ensued not to hesitate to give it out to the committee to ensure that there will be peace and stability in the area so that justice would be served.

The three-member committee had Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice George Kingsley Koomson, as Chairman of the committee, Security Analyst, Dr Vladimir Antwi-Danso, and the Executive Director of Penplusbytes, Juliet Amoah.

Marie Louise Simmons, a principal State Attorney, will serve as secretary to the committee.
