Nii Akrashie lauds Oshiyie for celebrating Homowo in peace

Nii Akrashie made this call last Saturday, August 14, 2021, when the people of Oshiyie joined the chief and his elders to perform the annual ritual of sprinkling Kpokpoi to signify the celebration of the Homowo Festival.

According to the chief, the mere fact of celebrating the Homowo Festival in peace without any confrontation means that peace has finally returned and the indigenes must come home to develop the town.

The celebration amidst drumming and dancing as the people were seen wearing white and red clothes, chanted the Ga songs to invoke the spirits of the gods and forefathers to bless the town.

“The era of those who say when I come to maintain my family building they will destroy it is over so let us all come home, unit and develop the one ever lovely and peaceful town,” he stated.

He said now that the people are living in peace, the main focus is to speed-up development in the area adding that the Akrashie family have started developing the two delipidated public toilets in the town to ensure sanitation and it related issues are improved.

Nii Akrashie thanked the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga South for delivering on his promise of building a clinic and reminded of him of the school which is yet to be delivered.

He said the royal family have signed a Memorandum of Understanding [MoU] with the Ga Dangme’s group living in the United State of America and Canada to help with developmental projects.
