The Municipal Chief Executive of the Nzema East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Frank Okpenyen on Monday, September 13, 2021, visited victims of the collapsed Axim Kundum Jams platform, which occurred on Saturday night at the Victoria Park Ceremonial Grounds.
Hon. Franko as he is affectionately called settled part of the medical expenses of the victims at Axim Government Hospital. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the victims and encouraged them to be strong.
Hon Franco as part of the visit donated a 32-inch LED TV set to Children’s Ward to uplift their spirits and entertain themselves as they seek medical care. He also donated 1000 bulbs to the Axim Government Hospital.
The Hospital Management expressed gratitude for this swift gesture by the Municipal Chief Executive and appealed for more. They urged the general public to take their safety serious during this Kundum season.
Five persons were severely injured and several others sustained minor degrees of injuries when a deathtrap platform collapsed on them when performing on stage on Saturday night during Kundum Jams organised for Local Artists by the MP for the area.
