The ‘victim’, Josephine Payin Mensah, was reported to have been discovered in Axim by a carpenter in a very distressed state after her ‘kidnappers’ released her.

However, the police today in a press released has debunked claims that the ‘victim’ was pregnant and also staged her kidnap.

Mr Acquah Speaking to Skyy Power FM gave further information being gathered from an investigation by the police.

He made it known that Minister initially released an amount of money to the police to be given to the kidnappers when a ransom was demanded.

Also, the first child of the ‘victim’ is not the child of the husband as he was claiming during an interview with Skyy Power FM on Wednesday, September 22.

Thirdly, Josephine’s phone was being monitored by the police and it was discovered that she would switch on her phone to communicate with her mother and immediately switch it off in ‘captivity’

Furthermore, the victim has been transferred from Axim Government Hospital to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi-Takoradi and a specialist has been appointed to examine her and determine if she was truly pregnant.

Three persons have been arrested including the mother and are assisting the investigation.
