Two men save 6 pupils following heavy downpour in Nkawkaw-Amanfrom

Six creche pupils on Wednesday afternoon were rescued by two men when a school bus driver abandoned them and sped off during the heavy downpour at Nkawkaw-Amanfrom.

Six creche pupils on Wednesday afternoon were rescued by two men when a school bus driver abandoned them and sped off during the heavy downpour at Nkawkaw-Amanfrom.

Reports say six kids were dropped off by a school bus to find their way home.

Two persons while eating at Kyidom restaurant in Nkawkaw-Amanfrom saw the bus driver dropped off the six school kids amidst the heavy rainfall and called live into the show to report the incident.

The two men intercepted the kids and gave them refuge till the rain narrows. His report, indicted Pentecost School and Obuoba Excellence school complex, a private school within the Kwahu West Municipality.

In an interview with Dan Lartey, the secretary for the Kwahu West Ghana National Association Of Private Schools, he stated the rules and regulations and the standards required by private schools to operate the bussing of school pupils to schools. He indicated that in the Covid period, a decision was taken to ground the operations of bussing of school children to schools.

He further noted that most of all the 51 member schools agreed that schools ground their operations of bussing school children but the few members who decided and agreed to adhere to all the safety protocols of the COVID-19 were allowed to operate and that, the number of rounds they go is increased to make space to protect the kids from contracting covid.
